In Emerge, Titilayo uses the power of storytelling to reveal her story and shared profound insight on growing up in a patriarchal society where uneven power balance between sexes reinforces behaviors that subjugate and violate women and girls.

This book contains stories of survivors Titilayo has worked with in the course of her work. You are likely meet your neighbor’s daughter, a 6-year old who is about to lose her innocence or a maid who comes to get the groceries with a big scar that wasn’t there yesterday. You perhaps already know of these occurrences but never knew it was happening right in front of you.

Emerge is a tool for social justice and equity and a voice speaking to individuals, communities, schools and the government on how to help break the cycle of sexual and gender based violence.
